We can hardly believe it’s Thanksgiving again! In the past, we’ve offered you some suggestions for Thanksgiving-themed books to share with the little ones in your life, like Melissa Sweet’s Balloon’s Over Broadway, which tells the story of the puppeteer who invented the balloons for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. And no holiday is complete without everyone’s favorite monkey, Curious George.
This year, we’ve also been thinking a lot about the books we’re most thankful for. You know those books, the ones you carry with you long after you shut the covers. Parade.com asked a bunch of our favorite YA authors (23 to be exact!) to weigh in on the books they’re most thankful for and we loved reading their picks! Some of the selections might even surprise you…
Michael Buckley, author of the Undertow trilogy, picked Oh, the Places You’ll Go! by Dr. Seuss as the book that had the biggest impact on him and Everything Everything author Nicola Yoon is most thankful for The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. Read the article here to find out what books Holly Black, Jandy Nelson, Kami Garcia, and more named as the books they’re most thankful for too!
Now we want to hear from you! Post in the comment section below or tag @HMHKids on Twitter and tell us the book you’re most thankful for this Thanksgiving! Enjoy your holiday!
